"Wow Sister, I can hardly see the numbers anymore!" A true compliment from Kathy's brother Andy; especially knowing that, as a child, she started her painting career with a paint by number set.

Katherine  Kenagy  Perales  has been fascinated with art all of her life. She studied education and art at Southwest Texas and while teaching school, was awarded a Masters of Education from UTSA. She is an artist and an art educator.

Kathy is a member and a past President of the Canyon Lake Art Guild, a member and present President of the New Braunfels Art League, San Antonio Art Education Association, Texas Art Education Association, Schertz Arts Council and the Texas Retired Teachers Association. She has studied with Vie Dunn Harr, Terry Madden, Jeannette McDougall in Auvillar, France, Kraig Kiedrowski, and Tom Lynch. She feels that she is blessed to be around such creative forces. Her work can be found in private collections from Washington to Florida and all over Texas.

Kathy says, “The best part of my painting experience is seeing what the paint wants to do and what the painting wants to become. It is amazing to me that each time I start with a plan, very soon it has turned into something unexpected. God works in mysterious ways! I love seeing the expression on the faces of those who like my work; making someone smile warms my heart and keeps me painting. I am grateful for the Lord's blessings."
